RE Registration 2017-18 For Returning Families

Religious Education for our children and youth is a cooperative venture involving both children and adults in our community. In a liberal religious tradition such as ours, religious learning, spiritual growth, and faith development are viewed as a life long journey each person takes.

We like to say that we may hold different beliefs but we covenant to journey together as a community, using as our guide our common principles and values. Or, in the words of sixteenth-century Unitarian Frances David, “We do not have to think alike to love alike.” Together, we strive to create an atmosphere of respect, compassion, and spiritual growth for ourselves and others.

Some Questions on the Form Explained:

"Volunteer 3 hrs for RE 2017-18?" To support our volunteer RE Program, we ask parents to volunteer at least 3 hours during the church year.

"Emergency Med Treatment" asks if you approve emergency medical treatment for your child

"Use of Photos?" asks if photos may be taken of your child and used for UUSS/RE program purposes, including posting on the web. We will NEVER identify your child by name.
Parent/Guardian Information

Child's Information

We are happy to announce that we have found a way around the gender binary in our church database. Please update your child's profile with their gender identity.
If your child has a diagnosis and you're willing to share it, we welcome you to do so by contacting Julie, the Director of Lifespan Religious Education at dlre@uuschenectady.org so we can best prepare our RE classroom for your child and their community.
We have the rest of your child's information already in our database. Please update the information below if something has changed in the past year. If not, you can skip to the volunteer section of the form and let us know how you want to be involved.

If you are unsure of what information we have, you can check your child's profile on Breeze under the "Religious Education" section on the right. You can find your child's page by searching their name or going to your profile and scrolling down to "Family," and find their name listed there. Other than staff, only you and your child's RE teacher have access to your child's profile field.
Below are a list of ways to get involved in our RE program.

If you serve on the RE Council, teach RE, or have arranged with the DLRE to spearhead a special project or program for the RE Program, then you have met your Parent Commitment (check "Meets Commitment").
