Long Strange Trip UU History Class (Spring 2023)

In this difficult and challenging time, we can find inspiration and renewed energy from our 500 year history of courageous and prophetic UU ancestors who devoted their lives to the quest for religious freedom and social justice.

This six-week course will cover UU history from the early Christian tradition to the present time, tracing our roots in the Protestant Reformation in Europe to the founding fathers in America, the Civil War, evolution, transcendentalism, humanism and finally our current liberal religion based on covenant.

The class format consists of a video presentation followed by time for discussion.

The class will be presented in a multiplatform format (in person and on Zoom).

If questions, contact Ernie Hall at hallel1254@gmail.com.
With a set of six DVDs detailing the history of Unitarian and Universalist thought from the beginning of the Christian era to what we know today as Unitarian Universalism, we explore the foundations and formation of our faith. Knowing and understanding our past can help us determine what we want to do in our present.

Class meets on the following six Mondays from 7-9 pm, both in-person and on Zoom:
- April 3
- April 10
- April 17
- April 24
